Hi, I’m Natalie Vanderpump!

I am the founder of Vanderpump Way, LLC. I was born in Jamaica and educated in the US as an Industrial/Manufacturing engineer. The Pacific Northwest is where I make my home.

I am a coach with focus in two interrelated areas: holistic wellness and decluttering. My practice with clients, and my own life’s path, lead me again and again to the connection between the two. Many of my wellness clients also struggle with clutter in their homes. Science tells us that this is no coincidence. That’s why I choose a holistic approach.

What decluttering from the inside out means to me

I read Marie Kondo’s books some years ago and my curiosity led me to follow her methods, verbatim. Following her techniques, I was able to make a huge difference in my home, and in my life. To help my clients create order in their own homes, I apply my project management background, my mindfulness practice along with the KonMari principles.

It’s about choosing joy – Marie Kondo

Marie Kondo wrote in her book “The essence of this method is a restructuring of our personal relationship with our belongings”. You will recognize that everything you own started with a decision -- a decision to buy it or a decision to accept it as a gift. Unpacking and understanding the “why” behind these decisions is decluttering from the inside out. Being fully present and aware of the range of your emotions (energy in motion) can lead to exhaustion, followed by happiness and exhilaration. When we create a vision for a joyful life, it becomes a framework that enables us to make decisions that are consistent with the lifestyle we want.

Design crushes willpower – BJ Fogg

My engineering training helps me to see my clients’ challenges in a new way. My clients often believe that they lack willpower to keep their homes tidy, or to make nutritious choices. I don’t see a lack of willpower; I see that they often lack a process to get them where they want to be. I find time and again that co-creating a structure, consistent with their vision that fits into their life, gets them on the path to their joy. If you can design your life and behaviors well, you don’t need to rely on willpower to do the right thing. You take back control via design. Will you let me help you design your own path?
